Chatty Cathy
In the 1960s if you wanted a doll that actually spoke,
Chatty Cathy was your go-to girl. With pithy phrases such
as "May I have a Cookie?"or "Let's Play School", and a
fully changeable wardrobe that included such necessities
as a dress, shoes and socks, little girls could tap into
their motherly instincts while still maintaining a
child-like quality that screamed "That’s my new Christmas
toy or you don’t love me!" In case you ever wondered, her
voice was designed by the same man that designed Barbie.
